Career made in Bayreuth
Tobias Schütz, alumus of the University of Bayreuth, gives insight into his success story.
Why did you decide to study in Bayreuth?
At the time, I didn’t want to completely leave my existing social environment, so Bayreuth was the ideal choice thanks to its proximity to Nuremberg.
What was it like studying in Bayreuth?
I really enjoyed my time studying here. Above all, the connection between the “old world”, i.e. my friends and family in Nuremberg, and the “new world” in the form of new contacts at the university was an ideal combination.
Why did you decide to stay in Bayreuth after your studies?
I actually already had my first good job offer that I wanted to take. In a detour, I ended up with my current employer, whom I already knew from my time as a working student there and who I always had in mind as a potential job.
Why do you think Bayreuth is a good place to live and work?
Of course, Bayreuth doesn’t have everything that an urban conurbation offers. However, you don’t have to deal with the typical challenges of the big city.
Why do you think Bayreuth has career potential?
Thanks to short distances, well-known decision-makers and direct contacts, you can quickly build a good network here. And Bayreuth is a good place to live, especially if you have a family. I would definitely recommend students to be location independent when choosing their first job and career, but never to lose sight of Bayreuth.
