Are you new to Bayreuth and want to meet new people and explore the region? Then join us for a trip to Franconian Switzerland! Discover and experience the breathtaking landscape of our region and enjoy a wonderful day in Tüchersfeld.

Franconian Switzerland Museum

We will take a Sunday excursion to Franconian Switzerland and visit the Franconian Switzerland Museum in Tüchersfeld. During a guided tour, we will learn all about the geological features of the region and dive into the era of the Jurassic Sea in Franconian Switzerland. We will get to know the animals of this sea and their fossils that are still preserved today, and learn how the famous rocks of Franconian Switzerland evolved from sponge reefs.

Ascent to Fahnenstein

To enjoy a magnificent view over the “Franconian” landscape, we will hike up to Fahnenstein. The ascent takes about 15 minutes and is moderately challenging. Those who prefer to skip the hike are welcome to explore the beautiful town of Tüchersfeld for about three-quarters of an hour, or relax on a bench or in a café.

Refreshments at Gasthaus zum Fahnenstein

For a cozy conclusion, we will have lunch at Gasthaus zum Fahnenstein. Feel free to take a look at their extensive menu in advance.

If you don’t have a car – no problem. We offer free rides for 6 people. If there is more demand, we will try to arrange carpooling.
